Had I not seen that one episode of Mac Miller‘s show on MTV where Flying Lotus was at his house party, I’d be pretty surprised by this pairing. “S.D.S. (Somebody Do Somethin’)” is the first single from Mac’s upcoming album, Watching Movies With The Sound Off.

Moog, the legendary synthesizer manufacturers, has recently developed a new one called the Sub Phatty. To commemorate the occasion a prototype was given to Flying Lotus to experiment with. The end result is this song, “Such A Square” (download below). The track also got its own animated video by Adam Fuchs, “Moog Sub Phatty: New Machine for Living”.

You’re going to want to watch this at least twice. P.S. – Last night at a show, FlyLo “revealed” that he was Captain Murphy. I don’t buy it. I think he’s involved, the production sounds very much like his, but I refuse to believe that the vocals are his…or at least that they’re only his.
