Soulection: Time In Between (Stream)

Author: | Date: Apr 5, 2013 | 0 Comments

soulection

Indie LA label Soulection has released a Vol. 2 to their compilation album entitled  Time In Between featuring a slew of Soulection affiliated producers. By keeping a discerning eye/ear on recruitment, Soulection has managed to not only serve as a label to electronic producers but, also as a genre of trippy electronic soul beats that basically all of their label mate producers display in their music. Prepare to have your mind blown and your ceiling lifted listening to this!

Bob Ross (Red Walrus x Dj Dyllemma): Happy Little Trees

BOBROSS

Red Walrus(Surf School) and Dj Dyllemma(Reservoir Sound) have joined forces to create a sci-fi themed beat tape  Happy Little Trees . The duo collaborated to create a back drop of boom-bap, space age beats while splicing and scratching in different vocal samples. This project will tell the listener a series of random stories over hard hitting drum tracks and eerie melodies. Definitely a must listen for any east coast hip hop fans, dope MC’s or fans of instrumental beat tapes. I personally enjoyed the samples from the TV show Fringe. Enjoy! https://twitter.com/RealRedWalrus https://twitter.com/DJDyllemmaRadio

I know that we very rarely post a complete jazz album but, I personally love Jazz & I have a special connection to this particular project. My good friend and fellow bandmate Kevin Louis is one of the coolest dudes I know and he’s an amazingly talented trumpeter hailing from New Orleans, LA. This album “Music Is My Religion” is themed on a very important topic, perhaps THE most important topic which is, spirituality and it’s connection to faith and human life as a whole! Now, with a challenging theme like that, one may find it difficult to merge it cohesively with the music but, Kevin Louis enlisted the help of some other great musicians that include one of my personal idols “Robert Glasper” on keys and my big brother ” Josh David ” who is the lead man of the reggae band “Judah Tribe” that Kevin and I are apart of, as well as the bassist for hip hop legend “Q-Tip” on the electric bass! The style of this project is in the form of an honest musical discussion which I find very unique and easy to listen to. Hear for yourself here, brought to you by FNMUSICWEB Music Is…
